Six Gary Vee Lessons I Think Every Real Estate Agent Needs to Hear

I have read all the books. I devour every new piece of content. And I keep coming back to six ideas that apply to our industry better than almost anything else I have found.

In this solo episode of X-Factor Marketing, I walk through six Gary Vee lessons and connect each one directly to how agents build businesses today.

Why does Gary Vee’s advice apply to real estate?

Every agent has access to the same MLS, the same contracts, the same lockboxes. What separates the ones who grow is attention. Personal brand. Who knows you exist, and who trusts you before they ever call. Gary Vee has been saying this for years. It took me time to see how directly it applied to what we do.

Am I posting enough content?

Probably not. And for a long time, I thought I was. Three posts a week, a listing video when something closed. I felt busy. Busy is not the same as present. Volume is not about spamming people. It is about surface area. More posts mean more chances for the right person to see the right message at the right moment. The 50th video is better than the fifth. I did not think my way into better content. I posted my way into it.

What does interest media mean for my business?

Platforms no longer show people what their friends post. They show people what they are interested in. That is a massive opportunity for any of us who do not have huge followings yet. I stopped asking how to grow my following. I started asking what my ideal client actually cares about. First-time buyers care about down payments and whether they are making a mistake. Empty nesters care about downsizing without losing their lives. I make content for the interest. The algorithm finds the person.

What should I do when the market is slow?

Keep showing up. The agents who grow in hard markets are the ones who keep going when everyone else goes quiet. When competitors pull back, my voice carries further. Hard markets are when people need a trusted advisor most. That is when my content has the most value.

Do I need a TV deal to build my brand?

No. The gatekeepers are gone. I have a phone, free platforms, and the ability to reach millions of people. A local show is more valuable than a national one. A TV star is famous everywhere and relevant nowhere. I would rather be the most trusted name in my zip code. That is the fame that actually pays.

What is my one takeaway from this episode?

The opportunity is wide open. Pick one of the six action steps I walk through and start this week. Post more than you think you need to. Stay with it longer than feels comfortable. Stop waiting to be picked.
