Who is Courtney Twiss and what is Now Nation?

Courtney Twiss is a broker, investor, hotel owner, and co-founder of Now Nation, a national network helping eXp agents grow without ego, pressure, or the noise that usually comes with this business.

She started in subprime lending in Central California, became a realtor in 2007 right as the market collapsed, built Twiss Realty Group into one of the top brokerages in the Yosemite foothills, and joined eXp in 2023. Now Nation currently spans five states with around 100 agents and is growing.

But more than the numbers, what makes Courtney's story worth paying attention to is how she thinks about building things.

What does "local expert with global reach" actually mean?

This was one of my favorite lines from our conversation.

When Courtney joined eXp, she kept her Twiss Realty Group brand for her local production business. Her community already knew her that way. eXp expanded what she could do, it did not replace what she had built.

"It is not an or, it is an and," she told me.

That mindset applies to everything she has built. Twiss Realty Group and Now Nation. Real estate and a hotel. Production and a growing organization. She does not choose between things. She builds systems that let her do both.

What is the biggest mistake entrepreneurs make with their vision?

Courtney had a ten year plan that included dominating California one office at a time. Then she stopped and asked herself whether that was actually what she wanted.

It was not.

"You have to be willing to let your ego go," she said. "We get attached to the goals we set and it can be scary to pivot. But sometimes the market changes, your life changes, and the goal needs to change with it."

The real skill is not setting a big goal. It is knowing when to realign it.

What advice does she give women in leadership?

Two things came through clearly.

First, women put themselves last. Investing in yourself through coaching, conferences, and community is not indulgent. It is what makes you a better leader for everyone around you.

Second, strong female leaders attract other strong female leaders. Courtney's entire leadership team at her brokerage was women, not by design but by the energy she put out. When you show up as a strong leader, you give other women permission to do the same.

How does Courtney use AI in her business?

This part of our conversation surprised me in the best way.

Courtney uses Claude to filter her email, flagging what actually needs her attention and letting the rest go. She has set up connectors to Canva Pro through her Claude integrations, so instead of opening Canva and building something manually, she tells Claude what she wants and it creates it using her brand kit.

But the piece she is most excited about is teaching agents how to become visible to AI search, not just Google search. As more consumers use AI to find local experts, the agents who have optimized for that will have a real edge.

"A lot of realtors are missing the mark on how to monetize AI and actually bring in leads from it," she said.
